Pronoun Party
What are your pronouns?
It’s a simple question to ask and one that here at Mei Mei we’d like to see increasingly normalized in everyday conversation. As a restaurant we strive to ensure that we are creating a safe and inclusive space for all of our guests and as such we jumped at the opportunity to host an event like the “Pronoun Party.” In Boston specifically and the world generally truly inclusive spaces are in short supply, making events like the Pronoun Party all the more important. So how did this all come about? Good question, and to answer we’ll quote the Pronoun Party’s founder, Dana Greaves of Artaya Loka.
The feeling is certainly mutual. In our humble opinion the party was a huge success. So many people turned out that we filled up both the restaurant and our parklet outside; the impressive turnout only further highlighting the need for these kinds of LGBTQ+ friendly spaces in our city. A first for Mei Mei, we even had a DJ in house, so much appreciation to @lduke1up for providing the proper vibes for both guests and staff (Mei Mei is definitely a fun place to work but it always helps to have a DJ). We truly enjoyed hosting this year’s Pronoun Party and want to end by saying thank you to everyone that showed up and showed out. We hope to see you again soon. - Mei Mei
“If you’re ever looking for a place where you can be yourself AND eat award-winning food, you already know where to go in Boston. Mei Mei isn’t just ‘queer-friendly’ it’s queer-celebratory” -Dana Greaves, Founder of Pronoun Party
